These economics lessons have their roots in the work of Just Economics, a nonprofit that helped everyday people active in their communities to support and promote economic policies that reflected their values. Just Economics' mission was to broaden public participation in economic debates.
Just Economics was a collective of women economists and community organizers who taught thousands of people from all walks of life about economic policy. By using popular education methods such as those pioneered by Paulo Freire, Just Economics made economics accessible, engaging and empowering. Our signature message was how values are front and center to understanding economics.
